Hiyari Hotto Zukan — SwitchBot Brand Site
Flip every household “uh-oh” into a “phew” — one switch at a time.
Challenge
Hiyari Hotto Zukan (“A Field Guide to Household Uh-ohs and Phews”) is a brand site that SwitchBot — the smart-home brand used by two million households in Japan — published in tandem with its web commercial Switch to a Happy Home. Worrying whether you locked the door after leaving, losing your keys, wondering if the kids got home, fretting over a pet left alone in a sudden heat wave — those everyday hiyari (uh-oh) moments are flipped into hotto (phew) with a smart lock and a smart remote. Rather than explaining features, it lets you experience the flip itself as a physical operation. no plan handled the front-end development.
Approach
We built a site where each of the 12 household near-miss scenes — keys, appliances, kids, pets — carries a toggle switch that flips hiyari into hotto. Tap or drag the crying-face knob and it turns into a smile, and the blue scene swaps into its red hotto counterpart.
